If your insurance policy does not include ‘Trace & Access’, then you’re left trying to find a company you can trust. For this level of service, look no further than FIXT.
You’ve discovered a leak what do you do next?
Are you losing boiler pressure? Can you smell mould? Do you have a damp patch on a wall or have received a high water bill? The impact of a water leak should never be underestimated, so we can help you identify and fix it as quickly as possible.
But early detection of a leak is just the beginning, as the cost and disruption of locating its source can be considerable.
If it isn’t obvious, it’s entirely possible a plumber could cause further damage finding it.
Don’t hesitate: put your mind at ease and call us immediately. We’ll talk you through what to expect and send a specialist technician to your home as soon as is possible.
We have unparalleled experience and knowledge of finding and fixing leaks. Our technician will arrive fully equipped to accurately and precisely find the leak.
We utilise the following specialist methods to detect leaks:
- Tracer gas to detect escaping emissions
- Acoustic sound testing
We’ll minimise the disruption to your daily life as much as possible. Often, leaks can be some distance away from any visible sign of water damage, so rather than unnecessary damage to walls, pipes and floors, our technicians employ the above technology to detect leaks in a variety of scenarios.
Fixing the problem
Once the leak has been found, we can alleviate your stress by exposing the leak and fixing it whilst onsite. Our main aim is to cause as little disruption as possible and leave you safe in the knowledge that the leak is no longer causing further damage.
Once repaired a full moisture survey can be carried out and a report provided which will detail the cause of the leak and extent of damage that is present.

We spend a large portion of our time indoors during the colder months. The impact of winter weather often prevents us from replenishing inside air with fresh air from outside. Thus, we often spend many days breathing stale air. Stale air, water damage and lack of airflow pollute air in an enclosed space.
Other pollutants can include building materials, furnishings, insulation containing asbestos, wet or damp carpet, cabinetry or furniture made of certain pressed wood products, products for household cleaning and maintenance, personal care items, central heating and cooling systems and humidification devices. External sources such as pesticides, air pollution and radon can also affect indoor air quality.
Indoor Air Quality
Effects on Health
The effects of poor quality indoor air are as varied as the people breathing the air. Immediate effects may show up after just a single exposure or it might take repeated exposures for symptoms to occur. Symptoms can include irritation of the eyes, nose and throat, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue.
These effects are usually short-term and treatable (even as simple as eliminating the person’s exposure to the source of the pollution). Symptoms of some diseases, including asthma, or hypersensitivity pneumonitis, may also show up soon after exposure to some indoor air pollutants.
What to Do About Indoor Air Quality
The best way to deal with this kind of “pollution” is to have a good exchange of air between the outdoors and indoors. However, this isn’t always easy in our cold environment and that’s where FIXT Ltd can assist you.
Schedule an Indoor Air Quality Inspection
If you have concerns please call FIXT Ltd to schedule an Indoor Air Quality Inspection. During the inspection process we will test for a wide variety of indoor pollutants as well as basics such as humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and temperature.
Once the testing is complete, we will deliver a report to you that explains what we have found and what to do about existing and potential problems that are unique to your home or business.
Mould growth can be the source of many allergies and infections and is a controlled substance regulated under COSHH 2002 UK. Some mould species are known to be toxic and are listed on the UK known pathogen list. Certain species of mould or in large quantities if inhaled or ingested can lead to respiratory and vascular illness in high risk individuals.
Mould is ubiquitous and found everywhere however following water ingress, flooding or a leak water damage indicator moulds will colonise in higher quantities which may affect a otherwise healthy environment.
FIXT Ltd are trained to inspect all cases of mould growth, whether mild of severe, we can determine the cause and mitigate further colonisation allowing procedures to be followed to control the moisture and prevent further colonisation.
Remediation techniques for dealing with mould colonisation will vary depending on the type of surfaces affetced and this is where our trained technician will provide professional advice.
We are trained, insured and qualified to attend your property and carry out investigations that may include different methods of airborne and swab sampling ranging from PCR-DNA sampling and analysis, total spore counts, direct microscopic analysis, directly cultured samples to improve accuracy and confirm if an unacceptable IAQ is present.
We have had an excellent experience with FIXT.
Our property sustained water damage due to an escape of water from our bathroom. Divon provided a prompt and comprehensive assessment for our insurers and kept in close liaison with us about how long we could expect the works to take as we had to move into temporary accommodation with our two young children for a period of a few months.
During this time, Divon managed the entire process and works from start to finish. Divon provided regular updates to us and our allocated loss adjuster, and prompt responses to any queries.
When we returned home, our house had been professionally cleaned and our bathroom had been finished to a very high standard.
Divon and his team are professional and have a commendable work ethic. We are delighted with the works that have been undertaken and are very grateful to Divon for making the experience as smooth as possible.
We would highly recommend Divon and his team at FIXT.
After experiencing severe water damage in my property,
Divon was assigned to investigate the issues further. Punctual & polite, & started his investigation immediately. I was very impressed by his professionalism and attention to detail throughout. He was clear on his findings & this was backed up by a comprehensive report.
I would certainly recommend him.
A fire that started in our kitchen and spread to the downstairs hallway and some of the first floor, left us feeling like our lives had been destroyed.
The damage made it look like we’d need a new house. Divon and his team arrived and took control of the situation, immediately cleaning up to properly assess the damage. When they were finished a few weeks later we couldn’t believe it; there was simply no trace that a fire had ever happened. They even managed to salvage the hallway dresser that was passed down to me by my parents.
I can’t recommend FIXT enough.
